Shoot for the Moon

Shoot for the Moon

Shoot for the Moon

Hey, Babies…I hope your week is going well.  This morning, this old quote came to mind…I’m not sure who first said it, but it goes like this:  Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you’ll end up among the stars.

Have you ever thought about what that means?

It means that if you aim your goals high enough, even if you don’t reach them, you’ll still be in a good place.  I believe that’s true.

It’s that time of year where many of you are returning to school, finishing up, or deciding to go back to school after a long break.  I definitely applaud you on all of these things, but I want you to take a minute and think about your long term goal, and the reason for your education.

Are you going to school to get a better job and make more money, because people say you have to, just to get more knowledge, to gain more respect, or to learn a new skill?

Whatever your reason is, I want you to think beyond the process, and think about what you actually see yourself doing when you finish.  It’s never too early to think about that.  Close your eyes and picture yourself in your next step of life after school.

What are you doing, who are you doing it with, and who are you doing it for?

This is your chance to make a difference in the world.  Think big!

Go beyond your wallet, your four walls, your community, and your country.  Think the world!  Think the moon!

Think about how you can use your interests, hobbies, knowledge, and God-given gifts to help others.  Think about how you can make a contribution that will leave a legacy so great, that people will remember you when you’re gone.  You have everything at your fingertips…literally.  (or your thumbs:)

As an old TV program used to say “We have the technology!”

What I’m saying to you, babies, is that this is an amazing time in your life and in the world.  Make the most of it.  Find your place in the world, and go further than you ever imagined. And it’s never too late.

You’re never too old to make a difference in the world.  The world is waiting for you.

Shoot for the moon, babies…the worst that can happen is that you’ll end up among the stars, and you’ll still be doing something great.

Now do me a favor…go to the comments below, and tell me what you pictured yourself doing when you closed your eyes.  I want to imagine with you!

And as always, remember that God loves you, and so do I!
