I’m Gonna Have a Blessed Day

I’m Gonna Have a Blessed Day

Babies, have you ever had a day when everything you put your hands on seemed to go wrong? You got up in the mornin’ with good intentions, feelin’ good, and then, Wham!  It all started goin’ downhill.

It felt like somebody was followin’ you around tryin’ to undo everything you tried to do, and before you knew it, the entire day just…well…I gotta say it…sucked?

Have you ever had a day like that?  Well, I haven’t.

Let me tell you what I mean.

Y’all already know that the Good Book says that in life, you will have trouble.  That’s a given.  Howsomever, (that’s a word my daddy used to say) even if a day does start off that way,  it does not have to continue that way.

See, in this situation, what we usually say is, “I knew it was going to be a bad day,”  or “Why does this always happen to me,” or somethin’ like that. Then we go and post the whole thing on Facebook.

Don’t you know that when you say those things, you are settin’ yourself up for failure and you are invitin’ all that negative mess to come in, and make itself comfortable?

Don’t do it, babies!

Instead, go against the old instinct, and say, “The Lord woke me up this mornin’, and I’m gonna have a blessed day.”  Trust me, you ain’t gonna feel it at first, but try sayin’ it anyway.

Before you know it, you’ll forget all that negative mess, and you will actually have a great day!

Come on and say it with me: “The Lord woke me up this mornin’, and I’m gonna have a blessed day.” Ok, now one more time, with feeling:  “The Lord woke me up this mornin’, and I’m gonna have a blessed day.”

Now, next time a day starts off bad, don’t give in to it.  Don’t let that mess follow you around all day.

If you repeated that with me, I know you’re feelin’ better already.  If you didn’t repeat it, go ahead…I’ll wait.

Now, doesn’t that feel better?  Now go out there and have a blessed day!

Feel free to comment below, and check that little box that says you want to know the next time I post somethin’…and remember, God loves you, and so do I!

P.S.  Now, I just started somethin’ new on this site.  If you have somethin’ that you’d like to ask Gramma, go on over to the Ask Gramma page, and ask me anything.

Bye-bye for now, and I’ll see you next time at the Kitchen Table!
