De-Fence Defenses

De-Fence Defenses

De-Fence Defenses

The Lord just put this song on my heart this morning. I know it’s kinda  long, but just let it play while you’re reading this, and I believe it’ll put a pep in your step.

You know, every time the Lord wakes you up in the morning, he builds a fence around you to protect you from the enemy.  At the same time, the enemy gets busy trying to get you to jump that fence…to de-fence!

But you know what?  You have defenses against all that attempted de-fencing.  Let me show you what I mean.

It may be some careless person in traffic that cuts you off and makes you wanna cuss.

Don’t do it.

Just say, “Well, that person must really need to get to where they’re going, so I’ll let them go ahead.”  Don’t let it sweat you, and don’t let it ruin your day.  Chances are, you’ll see them again at the stop light, and you’ll see how all that rushing wasn’t even necessary on their part.

It may be a coworker who tries to get you to side with them on an issue against the boss, or another coworker.

Don’t do it.

Use your own brilliant mind to evaluate the situation, and do what you know is right.  Remember that eyes are always watching you, and chances are that the very person who is trying to get you to side with them, may be the one who will side with the boss, and not you, when the rubber meets the road.

It may be a child who is getting on your last nerves and you want to smack ’em into next week.

Don’t do it.

You already know that if God did that to you every time you acted up, you’d be in oblivion by now.  Take a minute to compose yourself and then make them realize the error of their ways, and the consequences of continuing down that road!

It may be that you sneeze or cough and someones says “You must be getting the flu.”

Don’t claim it!

It may be your body getting rid of something in your throat or your nose. That’s how God designed your body. Let it take its course.  If you listen to those other folks, they will make you sick! Literally.

All I’m trying to say Babies, is that God has your back, and you need to know that he has built a fence around you to protect you on a daily basis. All you need to do is take a moment, and be led by the Spirit to do the right thing.

Folks will try to get you to act impulsively or try to get you to feel a certain way or act the way they’re acting, but if it is against the principles of the one who built that fence around you, don’t do it.

Don’t jump that fence for anyone or anything!  Don’t let them de-fence you!

Remember your defenses, and go out there and fight that battle by being the victorious person that God has made you to be. In fact, the next time someone tries to get on your nerves, sing this song to them. They’ll leave you alone.  Trust me.

Now I’m telling you this because no one else has told you, and because God loves you, and so do I!

Thanks for your comment. Your quote is definitely right on. Sometimes we hear the same preaching over and over, but we don’t connect to it because we’ve heard it before. The truth is that the bible is a living document, and as we live, we have different ways of connecting to messages. If we keep our ears, hands, and hearts open, we can receive whatever God has for us at any given time. Thanks again for taking time to comment!
